4 Days, 3 Nights
MT MERU in Arusha National Park, Tanzania has an altitude of 4566m (14,980ft) and is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. This mountain is a dormant volcano and  offers climbers a magnificent view of the imposing Mt Kilimanjaro and the spectacular Rift Valley. The area also hosts a large number of bird species, both resident and migrant. The best months to climb Mt Meru are September until April for the migrant birds to be seen.

Day 1: Transfer to Momella Gate, 2100m (6,890ft).  Register for the
climb before ascending to Miriamkamba Hut, 2541m (8,337ft) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Climb to the big valley then to Saddle Hut, 3570m (11,713ft). A hike up to the Little Meru is done in the late afternoon hours. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Final ascent to Meru peak, 4566m (14,989). Descend to Saddle Hut
then to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Descend slowly to Momella Gate for arrival approximately 10:30am. Transfer to
Arusha town.
